By Car: From the west (Syracuse): I-90 Thruway Exit 30 at Herkimer (Rt. 28). From the east (Albany): I-90 Thruway Exit 29 at Canajoharie (Rts. 10, 20, and 80) or I-90 Thruway Exit 25A and take I-88 to Duanesburg (5 miles), then Rt. 20 west to Rt. 80 south. From the south: I-88 & Rt. 28 (Binghamton/Oneonta/Cooperstown). From the North: Routes 28, 80 South and County Route 31 South.
By Rail: Albany-Rensselaer NY Amtrak station is 1 hour, 30 minutes drive to Cooperstown. Utica Station is 1-hour’s drive to Cooperstown.
By Bus: Trailways Bus from Port Authority in NYC to Oneonta, NY (35 minutes south of Cooperstown) is about a 5-hour trip, with one transfer in Albany, NY. Tickets start as low as $50. Oneonta Public Transport does have a bus loop to Cooperstown.
By Air: Albany International Airport - located 1 hour, 30 minutes drive to Cooperstown. Syracuse Hancock International Airport - located 1 hour, 45 minutes drive to Cooperstown. Greater Binghamton Airport - located 1 hour, 40 minutes drive to Cooperstown.
Get around
Park in one of our three free perimeter Trolley Lots and avoid driving in the congested downtown area of the Village. The Leatherstocking Trolley will run May 29 - 30, 2021, then Daily June 19 - September 5, 8:30 am – 7:30 pm. From Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day, paid street parking is in effect.
